How to print photos on the plastic where I can get the sheets?
My son has his school pictures recently. There is a sheet of plastic that had his photo on 3 markers, 2 keyrings and 2 card pockets. My question is how do they do? I would do it myself. I think they used some type of dye sublimation printing, but where they get perforated plastic sheeting? and leaves of sample can be found here: http://www.schoolphotocompany.org/images/Digital_Products/Family_Fun_Pack.jpg I'm looking for these sheets accurately. merlotony, you very well - what you see here is the treatment of sublimation ink / imprint. Dye-Sub Printer has come a long way in recent years - so much so that we can use a fairly low-end Epson printer inkjet in the process. Also can be very funny and very simple. The concept is that the ink is baked in special substrate materials (eg, a mountain with a special coating on the top) - which the ink is actually in the field, if the scratches and wear / tear will not affect you. Unfortunately, the printing process requires some specialized things can do a little expensive to begin with - specialized inks and / or printer specialty heat press and special "Imprint" materials. Furthermore, if desired, can take a look at http://www.johnsonplastics.com - This is one of the many companies that specialize in this process, but they were very helpful in explaining the process and options when I began to see it.
